Eating popsicles and the gate

Yummy daddy thanks for sharing
Its cold
Maybe I should lick it
Look a gate I am locked in
I will get out mommy
About a month ago we bought Popsicle's. Abigail saw me eating one, and decided that it would be fun to try. She loves them. They are sugar free, so I don't mind sharing with her.
We also finally put up our gate. Abigail crawls everywhere and is starting to pull herself up on things to walk around the room. we didn't want her falling down the stairs so we put up the gate. She will go to the gate if she sees either of us go past it. Because she knows it is the way outside.

The Cure, what's this, and noisy neighbor

So this weekend has been quite eventful. Friday night Mike and I went and saw the cure in concert. Mike's Brother Steve bought us the tickets for Christmas and then offered to baby sit. The concert was good, but kind of long. My favorite part though was the lead guitarist. I will have to describe him from head to toe. First of all his head was shaved completely he has pasty white skin and dark makeup around the eyes. He had a black mesh shirt on with black glove type thing on his hands that went up his arms. He had black pants that went almost up to his chest. The were kind of shiny they were tight around his stomach and loosened up a little down the legs. And my favorite part of all he had platform six inch blank heels on his feet. I liked him right away. I only knew a few of their songs, but it was fun. The lady sitting next to me was dancing the whole time. Abigail was mostly good for Steve and Trisha. She wouldn't eat for them she screamed anytime they tried to feed her solids or give her a bottle. Luckily when they started to eat dinner she ate off of their plates.
In Saturday Mike had to work. That day Abigail wouldn't let me put her down, if she napped it was only a few short ones. When Mike got home, he took me out to get a new dress for mothers day. Even though it was a couple of weeks ago, we finally had the money.
Sunday while Mike and I were getting ready for church we were in the bathroom and Abigail was in there with us. She was crawling all over the floor. She climbed up the side of the tub. Then I noticed her crawling between the tub and the toilet. Never a good place for anyone to go unless they are cleaning it. So I went to grab her, she had pulled The bolt cover on the floor off the toilet and was about to put it in her mouth. I got really grossed out. Her hands were really dirty we had to force open her mouth to make sure she didn't eat it. We then went to get our church clothes on. We took her in our room. I have been lazy and all of our socks is in a laundry basket that was the first thing Abigail noticed. She crawled right to it and dumped it over. The proceeded to take the sock out and try to eat them. We of course took pictures.

This is after we picked it up and put her is the basket. The rest of the day went pretty good. After I went to bed I woke up a couple of hours later, first to Abigail crying. Then my neighbors loud music. It was after midnight. Mike tried to go over to ask her to turn it down, but she wouldn't answer her door. I got back to bed after one and it was still going. She has always been kind of loud. If it isn't her music it is her fighting with her boyfriend, where they throw things around and every other word is the F word. She is the worst neighbor I have ever had. I am to the point that I almost want to report her, but at the same time, I don't want to be mean. Anyway that was our weekend.

Learning to share

Recently Abigail has started to share her food. I will give her a bottle and as soon as she has had enough, she tries to stick the bottle in my mouth. So I act like I drink it with out really doing it. She seems happy about that. Also today while she was eating lunch, she kept picking up food and trying to get me to eat it. I just hope she keeps this up. I always tell her good sharing.
Our air conditioner isn't working right now. We have a swamp cooler and they haven't turned on the water yet. Mike tried to turn it on but the valve is stripped so we have our apartment managers come and do it. Abigail is lucky and gets to run around with just a onsie on.

Poor baby

Abigail is getting her top two teeth right now. The first one broke through a couple of weeks ago. But the second one started breaking through this week, and she has a sore on her gums where it is breaking through. It explains why she has been cranky. This time with teething she has gotten a runny nose. So she is getting made at me when I try to clean her face.
On good news Abigail has been pulling herself up onto everything, and walking around the furniture. She will go up to the window sill and pull herself up there. Walk a little and then start crying because she thinks that she is stuck. We bought her a toy that she could push around. But so far she just looks at it. Hits it a could of times. We tried to stand her up behind it and she only pushes with her upper body. So she is stretched out. She has tried to walk a couple of steps, but that's as far as she has got. Someday she will learn.

You never know

I have been thinking a lot lately about life. When I was single, I never realized that life was so easy. You could go where you wanted when you wanted. You never really had to report to anyone( though sometimes your roommates wanted to know where you were going). The whole time thinking when I get married life will be easier.
I think that married life is a lot more fun. Its nice to have someone there for you, and you don't have to worry about finding someone to date anymore. But there is also the challenging side to it. Money seems tighter and have to work with someone on how to spend the money that you do have. I still can go things, but usually I work with Mike and Abigail's schedule on where I go.
Also being a parent is a lot different than I thought. before I had a kid I never really thought about how much work it would be being a parent. I don't think you really know until you take that child home for the first time. I talk to people who don't have kids yet and they think it would be just like baby sitting, only longer. I actually had one person tell me what to do if my baby woke up in the middle of the night. She said all you have to do is stick a pacifier in the babies mouth and they will go back to sleep. I think someday when she has kids she will have an awakening. Yes sometimes that works, but other times your baby wants to be held or is hungry and the pacifier won't work.
I guess you never know how things are until you experience it.

Waste of a trip

I am making someone a blanket for there soon to be baby. So I needed to go get some yarn today, so I could start on it. We only live like a couple of blocks from target, so i thought. We live close to it, but it is furthar than I thought. There were no sidewalks heading up to the store. So I had to be really careful in the parking lot. When I got to the store I discovered that they didn't sell yarn at target. So I was like ok now where do I go. Walmart is around there, but still a couple of blocks away. And these are not little blocks. I decided that the yarn could wait until tomorrow. So I started to head home. The whole trip took me about an hour. The one good thing about it, is Abigail fell asleep in her stroller and is still asleep in her crib.

gone for the weekend.

Mike and I went to Delta this past weekend. We were going to wait until Mother's day weekend, but Mike has to work on the Saturday, and won't get off until 5. So it was easier to go down this weekend. It was fun, because it was just us. Abigail got attention and loved every minute of it. Mike's parents took us out to eat Saturday night. Abigail of course wanted to eat every thing that we were having. She tried to swallow a fry whole and started to choke on it. I got part out and Mike's mom got the other part. We were going to leave Abigail with Mike's parents when we went out with some friends. But Abigail wouldn't have any part of that. She started screaming and screaming. So we finally took her with us.
Sunday was fun. We went to church and then came home and played games and watched basketball. We had pasta salad for dinner. I let Abigail try some and soon she was grabbing it off of my plate. She loved it. As soon as mine was gone she went to Mike and started to eat his too. I wish we would of remembered her high chair. That way she could of had her own.
We went the back roads to Delta. We have decided that will be the way we go from now on. Just so we don't have to go on the freeway.
