my lost mind

I don't know why but, my mind is not here today. This morning I was doing laundry and I forgot to start the washer oops. What was the funniest part about that is that I asked Mike to put the laundry in the dryer and he discovered my mistake. I am just feeling slow, when I was cleaning the living room, I kept thinking I need to vacuum, but it is still not done. Abigail is always scooting around so I try to vacuum every day so she doesn't eat anything. But I forgot to pick up a cup with a straw and she found it. She tried to est the straw and somehow hurt herself. Luckily it was the kind of hurt that she only needed hugs. I am just glad I didn't have my presidency meeting today. The president went out of town with her husband. He had a conference for his work. then the 2nd counselor had her baby last week. She had a little boy. I am so happy for her.
Abigail and I went on a walk again today. I put her in the swings again and she liked it again. I want to take Mike someday with us. Abigail loves him so much. She gets so excited when she sees him. She is usually really good for him. Today she wasn't. I went to the store really fast today, and when I got home Abigail was screaming. Mike told me that she was mad at him. She also wouldn't really take a bottle from him. I finally had to come and get her. I figured out was wrong with her (a dirty dirty dirty diaper) and she calmed down.

The weather has been getting nicer. It is good, because now Abigail and I can go out on walks. Yesterday we went to the park. We have a couple by our house. The one we went to has a pond with ducks. So I thought that it would be fun to bring some bread. I gave Abigail a piece of bread the give to the duck, but she ate it. There were a lot of ducks around us. Abigail just stared at them. The next thing that we did was the swings. Now that Abigail can sit up, I can put her in one. She liked it. She smiled and had fun. We went home after that. It is so much fun now that she is getting older and is learning things. I have decided everyday that it is nice that we are going to go out and explore. There is also baby time at the library on Fridays that we are going to start going to. The library is about 12 blocks away from my house, but we will make the walk. I have pictures, but we are getting a new computer tomorrow, and Mike told me not to put any new pictures on until then. So I will add them later.

Today I went to sears to the portrait studio to get Abigail's easter pictures taken. All I can say is that she was so cute. She was smiling and having fun. I had a hard time choosing which pictures to buy. At first I was going to use this coupon that I could only choose one pose. But I couldn't decide. So I told Mike that I was going to use a different one and get more pictures. He said to do whatever I wanted and thats what I did. I spent 90 dollars. Can we say oops. When I got home. I got on the website and e-mailed the pictures to Mike. He told me he would of had a hard time choosing too. If you want me to e-mail them to you let me know and I will.

Headaches

About ten years ago I started getting really nasty headaches. The kind that make it so you can't do anything else at all. And you feel like you are going to puke. The first time I had one I fainted, while I was in the shower.
Well anyway I had one yesterday. I didn't faint, but I also felt that I couldn't take care of Abigail. Because every time I stood up, I was so dizzy that I had to lay down. SO I had to call Mike and have him come home. He did, and he took care of her all day. Its a good thing she is taking bottles now. I was supposed to go to my ward party last night, because of my calling I was supposed to help entertain the kids. My ward is weird whenever there is an activity, they expect the primary workers to have a activity for the kids while they do things for the adults. Most of us are annoyed, because we are in a way already separated from the rest of the ward. I just don't think the activities people get that. This last summer they had a ward bbq and they said ok we will have dinner and then the primary will entertain the kids while the adults visit.

On the home front Abigail has started trying to get up on her knees. We are hoping she learns how to crawl soon.

Stinky diapers

Abigail can make some of the nastiest diapers. Her morning ones always smell really bad, even though it is only pee. But this past week when she has pooed like every diaper leaked so bad, to the point that I had to give her a bath. Today when I was getting her ready for her bath, she put her foot in her messy diaper before I could take it all the way off. It was a good thing that I was going to give her a bath. I guess it is just part of motherhood.

sitting up

Abigail learned how to sit up the other day. It was so exciting. But now she won't do it unless I am holding her or if I am behind her, as soon as I try to move she realizes it and falls down and starts crying. I have tried putting toys in front of her to play with, but she is like whatever mom.
She is also scooting on her back. What she does is lay on her back arch it and kicks her legs so she gets around the room. All I keep thinking is bye bye hair. I will posts pictures later of her sitting up.

Valentines day

Mike had Valentines day off. So we got a baby sitter and went to lunch. We went to a place we have never been before it was really good. They had frozen fruit lemonades. I got a strawberry lemonade. I just couldn't put it down. I will have to go back sometime just top get that. After that we came home and Mike did homework. We didn't have money to really get each other gifts, so we just bought a little chocolate for each other.
Abigail has started a new phase. You can be playing with her and she is smiling and having fun, when all of a sudden she starts screaming and crying. She has done it to me, Mike, and her uncle Steve. I don't know why she does it but she does. She sleep all night last night. It has been a couple of weeks since she has done that. Its nice to get sleep.

Biting

Ever since Abigail has gotten teeth she has started to bite. Usually it isn't that bad but once in a while she really gets you. Last night she really really got me to the point that it drew blood. First off all she was really tired. She hadn't taken a nap since she woke up at 3 and it was 7 at night. I had just finished feeding her solids and was washing her face. Usually when we wash her face she tries to eat the wash cloth so I just clean her gums. Anyway my finger was in me mouth and she bit down hard. I tried to get my finger out and it got cut in the process. I said owie which Abigail at the point started screaming. Her I have a bleeding finger a screaming child. Not a good combination. So I get a band aid fix my finger. Then I feed her. She fell asleep. About an hour later she woke up. Played again and ate again. We finally got her to go to sleep again. An hour later when we were going to bed she woke up again. She ate but then didn't want to go back to bed. SO Mike got up with her and gave her a bottle. He told me that Abigail was hitting his face. I told him that is another phase she is going through.

yesterday

Our Cleaning check went well. The landlord came in and only talked to me. Asked if we had any concerns. On the sad note she told me that the lady that we share a duplex with passed away last Friday. She said that she only had two kids that were trying to go through her stuff. Any way it is pretty sad.
I told Mike that it was funny that we cleaned our whole house and that she only was in the living room. But at least our house is clean now. We finally got our taxes done yesterday. We are getting a pretty good refund. We are trying to decide if we are going to take a vacation to go see family out of state. Some of our siblings have never seen Abigail. Who knows if we will though.

Cleaning

We are having cleaning inspections today at our Apartment. Mike and I spent most of the day Saturday, cleaning. I cleaned the bathroom, living room, bedroom, and folded the laundry. Mike cleaned the kitchen. We had Mike's brothers over Saturday night. As much as I love my niece she can sure make a mess. She pulled out most of Abigail's toys and books. Then left without cleaning up after herself. They also made dessert over at our house and of course the dishes were still in the sink this morning. After I loaded the dishwasher I was cleaning the sink and there was this clear goop on the bottom. I had to scrub it off. I told Mike about it and he said that he thinks it was egg whites. But still it looked like snot to me. So I was kind of grossed out.
Abigail hasn't started crawling yet. But she does make it around. She will be laying on her back and she will arch her back and kick her legs. So she will move. Problem is since she started doing this she has started running into chairs. The only way I got her to calm down today was give her Mike's watch.

Church

Ever since Abigail has been born I have not sat through the whole sacrament meeting. We go in and sit down, and as soon as the first sacrament prayer is over that is when the screaming starts. So I have to take her out in the hall. I have a hard time being out there for a couple of reasons. In my ward there are parents who don't care how rowdy their kids are. They let them run around and scream. Pull things out of the garbage. It doesn't even phase them. Then there are the ladies who are out there with their kids who talk to other moms the whole time. I try to listen but it just doesn't happen. I have gone into the mothers room sometimes just so I could listen to the speakers. Yesterday when I was in the hall. A guy (who really bugs me) took his one year outside and spanked her hard I could hear the spankings inside. Growing up if I ever did anything wrong my dad would just take me in the hall and hold me the whole time. I soon learned I had to be reverent. Primary was crazy yesterday, all the kids were chatty and the sunbeams kept running around. There was also a 5 year old stripping. He claimed he was hot. We had to have one of our presidency members go sit with him. We have had trouble with him before to the point we have had his parents come in with him. Luckily Mike takes Abigail so I don't have to worry about her in primary.

Baby proofing the house.

We need to baby proof our house. Even though Abigail isn't quite crawling yet she is getting around. If she sees anything on the floor at all or close to the floor she thinks that it is hers. It usually goes straight to the mouth. One day she was rolling around and found a pen. Mike and I didn't even know that is was on the floor. Anyway we heard her gagging then cough then was quiet. She kept repeating that. SO I went and looked at her to see what was up and she had a pen in her hand. When I took it away from her is was soaking wet. She also liked to grab onto the cable cords for Mike's e-box which should of been out of her reach, but now she got them. We got a gate for the living room so she can't go into the kitchen, we just need to put it up. The only reason I have that is because you have to go up a couple of stairs to go into the kitchen.
My brother and sister said when they had their first child he saw them always putting movies into the VCR. One day they tried to put a movie in but it wouldn't go. When they looked in there was tons of toys and garbage in it. I guess he wanted to play his toy.

Abigails favorite toy

Her favorite fish she likes to suck on this fish.
We bought this toy for Abigail about a month ago. At first Abigail didn't know what to think about it. But as time has gone by she loves it. Sometimes she will cry until I put her in it. This toy has a lot of different activities that she can play with. There is a chair that she sits in that can go around the whole station. She is yet to figure out how to make herself go around. There is a piano that has an option to play music and whenever the music is going she dances and smiles.

naps

When Mike takes a nap he can sleep for hours. I on the other hand takes short naps. Well as Abigail has gotten older her naps have become shorter. She now takes only half hour naps. Which makes it so I have a harder time getting things done and also she gets more cranky. But at least she is taking some naps.
I once knew this person that had a two year old almost three year old that would force her daughter to take a nap. I think when they get to that age they will fall asleep when they are tired.

teething

Abigail got her first two teeth at the end of December beginning of January. She is now teething again. I don't know about other kids, but Abigail gets cranky when she is teething and won't eat. I just hope that they come in soon. I was reading on it and most places say that they have a mild discomfort, but I think it is probably more, because as soon as I use the orajel she gets happy again.
