New calling

The Sunday before Thanksgiving we got a call from someone in the bishopric. They wanted to come talk to us. That is when we knew one of us was going to get a calling. I was called in the primary presidency to work with the scouts. So they had to do a background check on me. Just to make sure I could work with kids. I passed(I know you were thinking close call)

They finally sustained me on Sunday. I am going to be busier but that is ok. One week I will have round table and the next week is the pack night. I also get to do sharing times and do things with the primary presidency. It will be fun.

Mike gets to take Brooklyn with him. So he will have his hands full. Lately Abigail has been clingy, and not wanting to go to nursery so we will see how it goes. In two weeks she gets to go to the older class where there will not be as many kids. She likes one leader a lot she is actually the music leader. But she sits with Abigail.

Birthday dinner

Yesterday we went to my parents house for dinner. To celebrate any birthdays that are in the summer which is 5 people now. Still not as much as January. Anyway, Abigail is one who has a birthday in the summer. When it was time for gifts, she was playing with other toys and someone had to carry her over to us. We gave her the bags and she pulled out the few toys people had given her. She was so excited about them.

But then my little nephew, who is about 6 months younger than Abigail, started taking her toys and screamed at Abigail when she tried to take them back. Abigail then in turn became very possessive of her new toys. She didn't even want Mike or I to pick them up. We were just trying to help her.

Mike finally asked her if she wanted her toys in the car. By then she was screaming her head off and she agreed. They took them out and she came back in. She was in a much better mood. We have never seen her act that way towards her toys before. Maybe it is the age.

what to do????

I need a little time to vent. We are letting Abigail pick out her own clothes, so her dresser drawers are on the bottom. Problem is, she pulls clothes out all the time. Spreads them all over her room, and then won't put them away. We have tried time out and we make her clean it up. We also tell her big girls, keep their clothes put away. But she keeps doing it. I am just getting so tired of it. I know she is only 22 months old, but I want her to learn to not make a mess like that.

I just don't know what else to do.

the duck says.....

Abigail has a toy that has a picture of a duck on it. When you push the duck it quakes. The other day, I was studying and Abigail brought it out to me. She was going ba ba ba ba ba ba. She then threw the toy at me. So I made it quake and she got really happy and again said ba ba ba ba ba ba. I tell her it is quack quack quack. But she still says it wrong.

I can't believe how much she is talking now. Her newest thing is when she is looking for bunny. She will say "where is he?" and shrugs her shoulders. When she finds him she gets really excited.

Abigail loves when people sing. She knows the actions to itsy bitsy spider. She loves the ABC song. She also, I found out today, likes do as I'm doing. She was rolling her hands and I had to try to guess what song she wanted. When I finally started to sing that song she got really excited and happy.

Easter Dress

We bought Abigail an Easter Dress this year. I loved it the moment I saw it. There were also 3 other girls in the ward that had the same dress, so I guess I wasn't the only one who liked it.( please excuse the mess in our living room. I am becoming a lazy pregnant person)

She sat down to model for me
The dress went down to her feet. Room to grow!

Sleeping Abigail

Abigail has been falling asleep in really random places lately. If I think about it I take a picture
Here she is sleeping on our pile of blankets. It was early for nap time this day, so it kind of surprised me

Mike left to go do something one Sunday and he came back to find Abigail asleep on the couch next to me.

I love the feet!

Abigail likes to pull clothes out of the dresser then fall asleep on them.

I love the diaper showing.

Cuddling bunny

Bunny is pillow that day

Random pictures

We went to the living planetarium a couple of weeks ago here are a few pictures

She liked the fish.

terrible twos

So Abigail is already in her terrible twos. She isn't bad kid just has her moments.

For example the other day, she wanted me to get her some milk. She brought her cup to me and said milk. I told her one second and she grabbed her cup and threw it at me. She then started to scream. I got up and started heading to the kitchen and she kept screaming and yelling at me as I was doing this. Me not wanting to get mad at her. Decided to put her in time out. So I picked her up and put her on her bed.(time out spot until we find a new one) I then went back to kitchen and got her milk. I went to get her and she continued to scream at me, so I told her she had to stay in time out. I went back a little bit later she had calmed down and she was hugging me. I gave her the milk and then she was happy again. This all happened from when Mike left to work and by time he got there which is 10 to 15 minutes.

We have determined that Abigail can be very demanding sometimes. If she want something, it need to be right away. It doesn't matter if we are doing something else she wants it. We are trying to figure out what to do. She also likes to get into everything, so as of right now we keep three of the four doors (other than doors to outside ones) shut. We keep bathroom closed because she likes to put things in toilet, or drink the water. We keep our bedroom door shut, because she gets in our closet and pulls out our shoes and opens our dresser. We also keep our extra room closed because she pulls out my stamps, plays with the x box controllers and pulls everything off bookshelf.

She is usually very sweet and fun to be around. She is learning so much. We are teaching her how to clean. She helps with the dishes and the laundry. She also picks up her toys. She is talking a lot more, and can say people who she knows names. She is still a picky eater, but I keep trying to get her to eat more.

I think its just the age.

Abigail's favorite no no

Lately Abigail has learned how to shut and close her bedroom door. It doesn't latch because you have to pull hard to close it. Anyway she will go in her room close the door and either play on her bed or pull toys out.

Today I heard her open her dresser, I say her name. She knows that we don't get in our dressers. Instead of coming out to me, she goes and closes the door. I hear the dresser again. So I get up and walk to her room and open the door. By then she had pulled all of her clothes out and was on her bed jumping trying to figure out how she could get to her window.

I told her come and clean up your clothes. She said no and continued jumping. I asked her if she wanted a time out and she whined and got of her bed, picked up one thing and put it away and then she tried to run away. I had to sit there and have her clean it up.

We are trying to teach her if you make a mess you clean it up. But mostly I am trying to teach her not to pull her clothes out of her dresser, unless we ask for it. Last week a couple of times I have put her down for a nap, and I have heard her dresser open and when I go to check on her she is sleeping on a big pile of clothes.

I guess it is just the age she is at.....

Stairs

We have stairs in our apartment, going from front door to our living room. Abigail when she first started walking tried to walk down them and would fall down head first. After doing this about 3 or 4 times in one night she avoided going down the stairs.

Recently her favorite thing is to go outside and she has held my hand and wanted to walk down, but her legs are to short. So we both almost fell down the stairs. Which would of not been good, because I would of protected her, and probably hurt myself in the process.

So the other day I taught her how to crawl down the stairs backward. It just took one time of learning. (This was not the first time I tried, I tried when she was scared of them.) Anyway now she goes up and down the stairs all the time. If she knows Mike is coming home from work she will go and wait at the foot of the stairs for him. When he is coming in I have to warn him that she is down there.

She has also learned how to unlock the front door. She plays with the door knob trying open it and unlocks it in the process. I told Mike it was just a matter of time for her to learn how to open it. So we are planning on getting a childproof thing for the front door. Also probably for our bedroom door and bathroom door, her favorite rooms to go in.

Clingy

Monday I spent most of the day, other than taking care of Abigail's needs, studying for my math midterm. I took it yesterday morning and then I started to study for my science midterm, but only when Abigail was napping.

I don't know what happened, but when I went to do my math homework while Abigail was playing. She started crying and ran up to me to cuddle her. So I put my math to the side and I cuddled her, and cuddled her. She would not let me put her down or, let her sit beside me. So I just did math after she was in bed. She wanted to be by my side all night.

This morning I thought things were better so I watched a couple of movies for anatomy. She was good when Mike was here, but as soon as he left she was right back next to me wanting on my lap. I just don't know what to do I need to study but I also need to give my little girl attention. She only does it when Mike is gone, so he can't help me.

I am just wondering if she will be like this when the baby comes, or if it will be worse. Thank goodness Mike will be taking a little bit of time off when she comes to help.

Abigail's new table

I have been thinking about getting Abigail a chair for a long time. She always tends to sit on her toys or other things that she can fall off of and she has.

So the other night while I was trying to pick up our family pictures ( which is a different story) I decided to look for a chair. I didn't see any that I liked until I saw a table set that came with two chairs. I thought it would be perfect for her and it was on sale so I bought it.

I brought it home and Abigail ran right up to the box and was excited and would not leave my side the whole time that I was making it for her. I made the chairs first and she would try to sit on them. But they were slippery and meant for a 3 year old but I helped her. After I made the table she got really good at getting on it.

Everyday now she plays around her table and has fun with it. We are so happy that we bought it for her. I will post a picture another day of it I just have not taken one and I am being lazy.

jumping beans?

I swear someone gives Abigail jumping beans while she is in bed. Because now instead of making noise by talking or crying when she wakes up from naps I hear her jumping in her bed.

Its not so bad when I am in the living room, but when I am in our bedroom it is so loud. I think it is the loudest first thing in the morning, when she wakes up at 7 and thinks it is time to get up. Soon she is jumping and her bed is hitting the wall. I am like why is she up? Doesn't she know her mommy likes to sleep in.

She jumps too if we put her to bed and she isn't ready to go to bed. The other night we put her in bed and she jumped for like an hour. I actually think it is quite funny, but I am just wondering who gave her the jumping beans?

Abigail's theme song

Abigail has a theme song. A couple of weeks ago Mike's work cut down their closing time from 10 to 8. Which is nice, because he is home more. Anyway, I decided that Abigail gets to stay up until he comes home, so they can say good night to each other. Abigail really loves it.

Every night when we hear him come home, Abigail starts getting really excited and jumps and squeals, if he doesn't come right in, she starts screaming and looks at the door sad. But as soon as he opens the door she runs right to the door and squeals until he picks her up and gives her hugs. He then helps get her ready for bed and puts her to bed. If he isn't the one who does it she cries for her daddy.

The other night the song that came into my head was the primary song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home." I have decided I am going to teach it to her.

GO

The other night Mike and I were watching football. For those who know me I have not been a football fan until I got married. Anyway we were saying go. Abigail started yelling GO then she ran to the nearest wall hit it once and turned and smiled at us.

For the rest of the night she would yell GO and she would run to the wall and hit it once. We think it is really funny that is what she thinks that is what go means.

sick baby again

Abigail has the stomach flu. Poor little girl. We put her to bed early and a little bit later we heard her coughing and then crying then gagging. I knew right away that she was throwing up. Luckily Mike went in there and picked her up and cleaned her bed while I cleaned her up. Mike is staying home from school with her tomorrow, while I go to school. This is the first time she has the stomach flu so it is hard on her. But Mike and I think that we will be able to handle it.

Our little Pumpkin

Yesterday was fun with Halloween Abigail was a pumpkin this year. She wanted to leave all night and so she was screaming all night. She also got mad every time I tried to give candy away she thought it was hers. But overall it was a good night.

YUCKY!!!!!!

So tonight I was sitting her working on the computer, Mike was in the other room playing x-box and Abigail took that time to go into the bathroom, pull a lid out of the garbage can and precede to take water out of the toilet and play with it slash drink it. I was in the living room and I heard her gagging I was like what is she doing? I thought she was maybe in her room, but nope not in there then I heard splashing. I was like oh no! I went into the bathroom and she had both hands in the toilet taking water out. I was like eww gross, at the same time wondering who left the bathroom door open.
I gave her a bath and tried to give her milk just in case she ingested anything bad. It now makes me wonder I am going to have another one of these? They are cute but they can sure get into things.

Picky eater

Ever since Abigail got an ear infection she has been the pickiest eater. She used to eat almost anything that we put in front of her with no complaint, now I try to feed her and she screams and screams and screams. I finally have to give her a sandwich or fruit because those are the only two things she will really eat (except for her dads eggs). It is so hard, because I need her to gain weight but she hates eating. I just don't know what to do. I have tried giving her food off my plate she will only eat a couple of bites then give up. I leave her food on her tray and wait for her to get hungry enough but that just makes her mad. I wouldn't worry to much but she is already under weight. The last time I took her to the doctor he said she was the weight of a nine month old. And she is 15 months old. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get a stubborn 1 year old to eat?
