Huh?????

So this past weekend, Abigail and I went to my family reunion. It was up in Ogden. I had a lot of fun, but there is one thing that confused me. One of my second cousins is pregnant about 9 months I guess. And here she is smoking.
I guess I just don't understand. If you are pregnant and loved that child wouldn't you want to do all you can to help make the healthy. Its just hard for me to see that, but I guess it happens.

Abigail

We had a fun day yesterday with Abigail's birthday. She of course decided that waking up at 6 would be the best start of the day. So we got up. Mike made her eggs and toast for breakfast. She loved it and made a mess. After that we gave her a bath and she decided it was nap time. While she was napping Mike and I cleaned the whole apartment. It didn't take that long. When Abigail woke up we went to the store to get her cake. We came home and she ate lunch. Then played. Mike's sister Shelly and her husband Doyle came in the afternoon to bring Abigail a present. She loved it. After they left Abigail took another nap. When she woke up we all ate dinner and waited for Abigail's party to begin. Mike's brother Steve and his wife came. My mom came and my sister in law Cyndi and her kids came and Becky came (my sister in laws sister). We had fun eating cake and opening presents. After everyone left Abigail played for a little bit then decided it was bed time. It was a good day.

Swimming pool

We bought Abigail a little swimming pool. Today was the first day that we used it. My wonderful husband blew it up for me. Abigail loved it. At first she kind of just sat there. Then she was splashing around and having fun. She got mad when I took her out. My friend Amanda came over for her kids to swim. Her 19 month old got in the water, but wouldn't sit down. her 7 month old didn't even get in.

We are going to try to swim more often. I even get wet from all the splashing.

Rough Weekend

Friday night Mike came home with some bad news. His brother and his wife lost their little baby. She was 32 weeks along. She said the baby stopped moving. They went to the hospital and there was no heartbeat. So she had to deliver the stillborn baby. Luckily their were no complications. It has been really hard. They are the couple that we hang out with the most. We were all looking forward for them to have this little boy.
Abigail and the baby had some type of connection, even though he was not born yet. Before my sister-in-law ever got pregnant Abigail liked her but wouldn't really play with her. Even before she knew that she was pregnant Abigail started to like her a lot. She would only go to her. Right after Mike told me the news, I had a strong feeling I needed to hold her and she started screaming in her bed right then. Both Mike and I went into her room and gave her hugs and kisses and told her everything was going to be alright. It was weird because Abigail never wakes up at night, after I put her to bed.
This was also the couple that I was making a blanket for their baby. After I found out and Mike was out there helping them. I was trying to decide what to do with this blanket. I had a feeling that I still had to give it to them. But I knew that would be hard on me and them. But the next day they called and said that they wanted to bury him in this blanket. Because from the beginning it has always been his blanket. It had such a special feeling to it. After I finished it I felt the Spirit really strong with it. I told my sister in law about that feeling as I handed it to her and she said she felt it too.
I can not begin to understand what they are going through. I think that it would be so hard. Mike and I are showing our support by going over and visiting them and just listening to them. We are so happy that we have that close friendship with them. That they are comfortable enough with us to have us around them at this time. We really care for them and love them.

I don't understand

This morning I was watching the news. There was another baby left in a car for a couple of hours. This is the third one that I know of, just this year. It is so sad. I just don't understand how you could forget your child in your car. Abigail is always the first thing I take out of the car. Even if I have a car load of grocery's. Its just so sad to see what these children have to face.

Fun weekend!

Mike and I had a fun weekend. Saturday night we had a dinner with Mike's mission buddies. It was at someones house up in Layton. Right now our car does not have air conditioning. So we were so hot. It was fun once we got the the house. We had a Bbq. We let Abigail try some jello salad. She loved it and got it all over herself. After that everyone just talked. All the kids except one was older than Abigail. The other baby there was three months old. After awhile we started playing the wii. It was the first time that Mike and I have ever played it. I only played the bowling game. We have decided that the next gaming system that we get will be the wii.
Yesterday was Mike's birthday. We went to church and taught primary for the first time. I guess I went really fast, because by time I was done teaching we still had a half hour left. But I played games with them. When we came home we ate a little bit of lunch. Then Mike's brother Steve and his wife Trisha came over. We talked and then played a game of rook. That has recently became one of my most favorite games. Mike and I won the first game. We then made dinner. We had fried chicken, grilled corn on the cob and potato salad. It was really good. After we ate, we played another game of rook. Steve and Trisha won the second game. We then made doughnuts for dessert there were really good. I think that I will make them again someday.
Abigail was really good both days. She is so cute. whenever someone was eating something she would climb onto their lap asking for food.

No Naps Please, bad diaper rash

This week, Abigail decided that she didn't need to take an afternoon nap anymore. She will go down for the morning one and usually sleep for an hour. But in the afternoon she will go in her crib and just play. She won't even attempt to go to sleep. It wouldn't be bad, but because she has no afternoon nap she goes to bed early and then wakes up early. She is also really cranky by time its dinner time and will give me a hard time when she is trying to eat.
Earlier this week Abigail got a bad diaper rash. It had open sores and everything. So we took her to the doctor, because the cream we were using was just making it worse. He gave us some other cream. The rash is mostly gone, but she still has the sores. I hate changing her diaper when she has a rash. Because it just makes her cry and scream.
Today Mike and I are going to go have dinner with his old mission companions. It has been about two years since we had a dinner with them. It will be fun. I really don't know any of them. Mike's birthday is tomorrow. I already got and gave him his present. I got him Indiana Jones on DVD. All the older movies. I accidentally let it slip one day while we were talking about money. So I just gave it to him. He was really happy about what I got him.

Picnic with family, New Calling

Saturday Mike's parents came up north and we had a picnic, for Father's day. We had a small grill that we cooked hot dogs on. It was a lot of fun. We went to the rock canyon park in Provo. The only other time that I have been there was to go sledding a couple of years ago. We were by a hill and my niece Kathrine kept climbing up it. Someone taught her how to roll down the hill. There was once that my sister-in-law Shelly rolled down with her. I was impressed, because it is something that I would never do. I would get dizzy so fast. My father in law took Abigail up the hill. He was letting her play in front of him and she was trying to eat the dandelion's. When she bent over to far and went head over hills. He said that it looked like she enjoyed it so she started rolling over on her side and got scared. After the park Mike and I went to his brother Steve's house. Shelly and Doyle were there too. We played a game and then they had to leave. So Mike, Steve and I played rock band. It was just a fun day.
Mike and I got called to be primary workers. We are going to be teaching the CTR 7 class. Which is basically the 6 and 7 year olds. I am excited. Mike is too, but he is kind of nervous. It was so weird when I was in my last ward and I knew that we were moving, I had this strong impression that we were going to be called as teachers in our new ward. We will most likely have Abigail with us. Though the bishopric was like your class is kind of hard we might have to find someone to take your baby. It will be fun either way.
