December Activities

December was a busy month. Well as busy as it can be when the mom is taking it easy. Abigail was so excited for Christmas since we put the tree up. We made cookies this year, and let Abigail help decorate them. She either put on tons of frosting on them or hardly any. So we just pushed them together to eat them.
The cookies we made.
Frosting the cookies
I cleaned out the closet and got rid of shoes. Brooklyn decided to dress up. (this was the day before I got told to take it easy. So I still have tons more organizing to do.)
One day Abigail started yelling I am stuck. So I went into her room and this is what I found. She thought that she was funny. It was hard to get her out though.
Girls getting ready to go to Grandma's house. Brooklyn wanted to sit in her high chair.
Hanging out with their uncle Curtis (who is my twin) They really liked him. My grandma is sitting in the background.
We got snow and a lot of it. Mike was nice enough to take the girls outside. He taught Abigail how to throw snow balls. Which she calls "snowing balls"
Brooklyn only likes walking on the sidewalk.
She only went in the snow when Mike made her and then went to him and didn't want him to put her down.
Abigail got her first hair cut. She had a mullet and no longer does it turned out really cute.
The front.
The back.
The girls went to the dentist and got sunglasses.
Abigail doesn't smile with them on.
Girls opening their pajamas on Christmas eve.
Brooklyn was so excited for hers.
Abigail wearing her new pajamas.
Abigail in her pajamas. Sorry about it being blurry. ( I didn't take it)
Both girls showing off pajama's right before bedtime.
Brooklyn's new phone. Which Abigail plays with it more.
Abigail's new pot and pans. The number one of the things she asked for.
Brooklyn's new doll came with a cow that moos.
Abigail's food that she wanted. Christmas was overall good. We opened our presents and ate breakfast. After that we went to my parents house for the day and ate lunch and opened more presents which I forgot my camera. The girls were spoiled. That night we just came home and relaxed. Which was nice because I was really tired by then.
Abigail wanted to help Mike with the laundry so she climbed in to empty the dryer.
Update on me. I am still being told to take it easy. It has made it so my bp stays under control. I had blood taken twice and the platelets are still going down, but still not in a danger zone. My feet are now swollen all the time. They got down a little when I sleep at night. Doctor said that it is good that I am taking it easy because that means the baby will be healthier when he comes. I am hoping that I will be able to have him soon though. Mike starts school again this week and will be gone about 13 hours a day. So it will be harder to take it easy. But we will see.

I was right

I went to the Doctor today and rest is helping my blood pressure. So I have to keep taking it easy. He said we are going to try to make it to 37 which is about in 3 weeks. He said if we can we will wait until 39. he told me I will for sure not make it to my due date.

i have to go in for another non stress test this weekend and next week I have to do a urine test and a non stress test. The rest of the time I just get to be lazy. I am spending most of the day at my parents house. Mike went winter camping with his brother so they are going to help me with the kids.

Rest is working

So I have been taking it easy. I have felt a lot better, that it has got to the point that I feel lazy. I decided to do a load of laundry this morning, because Mike was gone and we needed it. I know have a headache. But that is alright. I don't have another Dr appointment until Friday, so we will have to see how it goes. I am hoping I can take it somewhat easy. My house isn't getting as clean as I like it. Mike has finals this week so he doesn't have as much time. Maybe next week.

Yesterday though I took my pulse and it was 138 bpm. That was after taking Abigail to the bathroom and picking up a piece of trash. My mom lent me a bp monitor but it is for your wrist and not very accurate. I used it right after a arm on and the numbers were at least 20 off from each other. But I think the pulse is right. I have been taking it when I can feel my heart beat and it is usually fast and strong at the time.

Update

So I did the 24 hour urine test and had the nst today. There was no protein in my urine and they noticed with rest my blood pressure goes down. So I am still on "take it easy" or as I call is Lazy syndrome. The nurse called it couch potato syndrome.

They took my blood and I found out tonight I have low platelets. Which they said if it gets under 100 I do not get to have an epidural. I have a very low pain tolerance so I hope it doesn't get to low. I guess I will find out more from my Dr. at my next appointment.

Mike and I decided last night this will be our last kid. We just don't want to keep doing this to my body. I am just glad we got a boy.

I am thankful for people who are willing to help us. The lady I visit teach is coming tomorrow to clean my house. I have been so tired that I have not been able to scrub my bathroom forever. But it was on my list of things to do. I was also supposed to have preschool next week, but a couple of the mom's are going to take over and do it.

Apparently the way my body deals with pregnancy is to give me high blood pressure. I went to the Dr. today and my blood pressure was something over 92. My Dr. was so concerned that he is having me take a 24 hour urine test. I was told to take it easy and I have to go in again next week. He told me that he wants to keep the baby in as long as possible, but that there is no way that I will make it to my due date.

The baby also hasn't been moving as much, which is a concern to him too. It has been making me worry too. Though he had a strong heart beat today. My Dr still wants me to be monitored at the hospital for a half hour.

I know I have had this happen every pregnancy, but it still worries me. I have never had it happen so early in the pregnancy. It usually waits until I am 35 weeks along. But I will make it. As long as I have him after Christmas I will be fine.

Grateful for someone

I have been worrying about how to afford Christmas for our kids. We had some bills earlier in the fall come up that we did not plan on. We were like well if Mike can sell his books then we will get Christmas from our kids. I even got a plan B of borrowing money from my parents. Something I did not want to do. I also kept thinking they are so young they will not remember if we just get them one small gift. I even tried to make them blankets, but got lazy and they are not close to being done. Maybe for their birthday or next year.

Last night we were at home discussing what to make for dinner when someone came to our door. I walked down the stairs to answer and there was no one at the door, but there was a huge box of presents and food. There was also a gift card. I was like huh who would do this for us. We brought it in and there was a note saying the family learned about service during family home evening and decided to do service for someone they knew. I was in tears.

I don't know who did this or would of even thought of us, but I am really grateful for them. It is going to help us out so much. Someday when we have extra money I will want to help someone out also.

closet

Today I was sitting on the couch working on my computer. The kids were in their room playing. Every once and again I would hear them. Then I heard Brooklyn screaming, but it was kind of quiet. I got up and went into their room. I couldn't see her. But I could hear her. I asked Abigail where she was and she said in the closet. The closet door was shut. I open the closet door and Brooklyn was their between a toy bin and a bunch of boxes stuck. She was screaming. I pulled her out and asked Abigail why she didn't come and get me and she said "Because I needed to go poo poo in my panties." I send her into the bathroom and got Brooklyn ready for a nap. Luckily she hadn't pooped in her panties yet. But still kind of frustrated that she locked her sister in the closet.

Tis the season for pie

So the past couple of weeks I have been craving pie. We made two pumpkin pies which I ate within 2 days. I think Mike had a couple of pieces. Then we have been making chocolate cream pies. Mike made the first one and put whipping cream with the chocolate pudding. I made one this week, I noticed that we had cream cheese in our fridge it has been there for awhile I decided it needed to be used. So I mixed that with some whip topping and powder sugar. I put that on top of the crust. I then made pudding and put that on the top. We thin put whip topping on top of that. It turned out so good. The good news we have enough cream cheese mixture to make another pie. I am so excited.

Next week though I am going to make my all time favorite peanut butter pie. It is so good. It isn't so peanut buttery that you feel like you ate a jar of peanut butter. Most people who eat it love it. My family asks me to make it every year and if I don't they get upset. To bad we are going to Mike's side of the family this year.

I just love pie so much.

Halloween weekend

We had a good weekend.

Friday was my birthday, I started the day by going to the lab that works with my doctor, to have the glucose test taken. I really don't mind it. The drink tasted like crush, without the carbonation. They told me I could go to the bathroom to drink it, but I just drank it in there. I sat in the office for an hour then got my blood taken. After that I went up the stairs to my doctor appointment. Luckily it wasn't busy and he was not behind, so basically it was just in and out. They took my blood pressure, usually the nurse will say it is great. But on Friday she said it was ok. It was fun to hear the babies heart beat again. Still very strong.

After the doctor office we packed up our car to go to Delta. Before we drove down we went to IHOP because they had free scary face pancakes for kids. We got both of our kids one. Abigail ate a few bites then claimed she was done. Brooklyn just ate the whipping cream and candy off of hers.

The drive down to Delta was not that bad. The kids were good, they both slept a little. Abigail was staring off for a bit so I asked if she was ok. She just sighed and said "I am just happy." Both of Mike's parents had to work the afternoon and part of the night so we were on our own. We went off roading, but not to bad because we had the girls and I am pregnant. Abigail loved it she said it was like a big slide. After that we took them to the park. Abigail went up the biggest slide and started to go down. She stopped herself halfway down and wanted Mike to get her. He told her she just had to go the rest of the way down. We took them to visit their grandma at the library where she works. They were both so happy to see her.

That night for dinner we decided to see what kind of fast food we could get in Delta, Abigail and I got rice bowls and Mike and Brooklyn got food from McDonald's. We were in the drive thru of McDonald's for about 40 minutes. It was so annoying. Brooklyn was hungry and was upset that she was stuck in the car. Abigail was trying to calm her down. She turned to her and said "don't worry Brooklyn I will go to the store and buy you food."

That night we didn't want to put the kids to bed until they saw both of their grandparents. But Mike's mom got home from work late. She went to the store so she got home about 9. Brooklyn was so tired so we thought that she would sleep all night. Boy were we wrong. About an hour after we put them down she woke up crying. So we went and got her. We put her down a little later and she fell asleep. She stayed asleep when Mike and I went to bed. But about 1 Abigail started to cry. Which woke Brooklyn up, plus the room was really hot. We got some fans on and hoped she would go back to sleep. But she kept crying so I picked her up to sleep with me for a bit. The bad thing is I sleep on the small brown couch thing that is barely big enough for me so I was not comfortable. About an hour later I put her back into bed. But she started to scream again. So Mike got up with her. He was up with her until 4:30 in the morning. They still woke up at their normal time.

Saturday was really low key Brooklyn was happy and was playing with both of her grandparents. So good in fact that Mike and I took off for a bit on Saturday to have a date. We ate at a really gross restaurant. Which I will never go to again. When we got back to Mike's parents Brooklyn was falling asleep in Mike's mom's arms so we took her to bed. She napped for 3 hours.

That night we put the kids in their costumes and took them trick or treating. We just went up the block and back. It was very cold. Abigail was a chicken, Brooklyn a cow, Mike was a bunny and I was a farmer. After we were done trick or treating we went back to Mike's parents house for dinner. We had pizza it was pretty good for Delta. We then packed up our car and went home. We got home about 9:30 put the kids in bed and then were pretty worn out. Over all it was a pretty good weekend.
