Mike's spring break

Mike had his spring break this week. So we decided it would be fun if he took a few days off for some family time. Wednesday night Mike and his brother decided to go camping. A couple of hours later I received a phone call from Mike informing me that they got stuck, they had to call a to someone to help them out. They ended up calling 4X4 recovery service, that helps off roaders get unstuck. Unfortunately the cost a lot. Luckily Mike and I had money in our account. He ended up coming home that night, which was good since it was pouring rain outside.

Thursday we had family pictures, for the first time in awhile. Last time we did it, I had a friend do them for us. They were not good at all and she took over 100 pictures. Yesterday was much nicer. We went to sears and it was just us there so it was nice and relaxing. We got a family picture then a picture of all 3 kids then individual pictures of the kids. Xavier ended up being the best off all the kids. That night I went to a baby shower for one of my neighbors. Xavier stayed home with Mike and was really good.

Friday we had fun plans, first Xavier had his 2 month appointment (more on that later). When we got home, I fed him and we got ready to go to the zoo. The weather said it should be in the mid fifties and partly cloudy, so we thought that it would be perfect. So we get up there since it was lunch time we decided to have a picnic lunch, so we went to the This is the place park. We get out of the car and it was cold, we walked to the table and it was windy and freezing. So we headed back to our car and had a picnic in there. We decided that we didn't want to go to the zoo if it was that cold, but we also didn't want to drive back home. So we talked about where we could go. Mike called his brother to ask him to look on the Internet for a kid friendly place to go. He told us to go to the discovery gateway children's museum. It was pricey, but worth the money. They had make believe areas for kids, musical toys, building areas, puzzles magnets. It was awesome. We would of stayed longer, but Xavier got cranky. We took some pictures, so enjoy.

Xavier's blessing

Xavier's blessing day was so wonderful. First of all no one was sick, and second everyone was in good moods. Which is saying a lot some days. That morning we listened to church music and tried to not let the kids make a mess. They are really good at that. It was nice and relaxing. The blessing was wonderful. Mike did a really good job. You could really feel the spirit and Xavier was good the whole time. He woke up at the end and wanted to eat as soon as he got to me. I was just happy he didn't scream through the blessing. We had a lot of family here. Not all our siblings, but at least most of them that live in Utah. We some how fit the all in our apartment after the blessing. It was fun to visit with family and there was plenty of food. It was just a good day overall. I love the special spirit that a little one brings into our lives. They are so special and important. Even on the nights that they don't want to sleep. I love my 3 kids I am so blessed to have them in my life. I just hope that I am a good mother to them.

Where do kids learn it?

Last week Abigail wrapped some string around Brooklyn's neck and was running around her. I quickly went and took it off and told Abigail we do not put strings around other people's necks. Then today I was feeding Xavier when I hear a muffled cry from Brooklyn. It is her hurt cry. So I quickly put the baby down and run into their room. Brooklyn was laying on the bed and had blankets all over her. She had a pillow on her head and Abigail was sitting on the pillow. I quickly pull Abigail off and put her in time out. Brooklyn wanted me to hold her, but not until after she stripped all of her clothes off. During that time she is screaming of fear and pain and Xavier is screaming because he has not finished eating yet.

I just wonder where kids learn how to attack each other like that. I have never taken a pillow and put it on top of one of my kids heads and sat on it. Who knows. I just hope I can get this phase to go away.

Abigail

So I have a few stories about Abigail that has happened the past couple of days.

Last night we were getting ready for bed. I was changing Xavier, because not only did he have a blow out diaper, but he puked all over him and me. Anyway I was changing him and Abigail was watching me and she said "Mom I see Xavier's bum. I was wiping it at the time and I said yep it is right here. She then walks up to me and said no that, his bum is right here and pointed to his little boy area. I told her that is no a bum. She then asked what it was. When I grew up my parents really never talked to us about that type of thing or used the word they always just said private area. I know other families are more vocal about it. So I didn't know what to say to her. So I just said it was his boy parts. She said OK and walked away. I just don't know what is proper to tell a 3 year old. Mike said we should just say the word. I thought it was weird that it took her so long to notice the difference. But maybe she never paid attention.

So today Abigail went to preschool, they had a field trip to the fire station. I didn't go with her but she came home with a paper with some questions on it. The first one asked her what her favorite part of the fire station was and she said the green fire trucks. The question that made me really laugh asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and to that she replied a race car driver. I didn't even think she knew what that was. But oh well if that is her dream. Mike and I have a file for her of things she does that we keep for her. It isn't every little paper she does, but funny ones or ones we think she will want to keep. This will be one that we keep.

Out of shape

So before I got pregnant I was working out everyday. Not only did I exercise everyday but I went on walks too. After getting pregnant I didn't work out as much. Then I got put on bed rest and couldn't do anything. I felt so lazy.

2 weeks after having the baby my doctor gave me permission to clean house, which I did. But I still felt out of shape.

Now that I can work out I try to and I get so tired so fast. Even going for walks wear me out. Part of the walks might have to do with the heavy stroller I push with 2 sometime 3 kids in it. I am hoping to get into shape again real soon. I just need to get more sleep and work out more often. I want to lose about 30 pounds. That would put me about the same I was before any kids.

Playtime with Abigail

Lately Abigail likes to name people different things. Mike is a pirate, and so is Brooklyn and Xavier. I am superman. And Abigail is a superhero with the name A. She will tell us she is going to get us and hurt us. I have tried to tell her superheros are nice and help others, but she doesn't understand.
She also like to play the wii. We introduced her to Just Dance the other night when Mike's Brother and his girlfriend was here. She has wanted to play with it every day ever since. But I am the only one here, so I am the one that dances with her. Someday I hope that I will get better. She is also asking for her uncle Tim to come again. Usually she doesn't want him to come back. I think it is his new girlfriend that she likes.
Abigail and Brooklyn are always doing pretend play it is so much fun to watch.

Fun weekend so far

This weekend has been quite busy. Friday I went and got a massage. I have been needing on for quite some time, even the massage therapist said so. It was really nice. That was about the only thing I did on Friday other than take care of kids.

Today Saturday has been fun. First we cleaned the whole house. I went through the kids toys and organized them. That will last for about a day or two. After cleaning I had lunch and then I left to get a hair cut. I decided that it was time for a dramatic change. So I got it chopped and then I got a dye job, then she cut it so it was straight.

I came home and Mike and the girls said that they loved it. Tonight Mike and I went on a date we have not been on one for a long time. My parents came and baby-sat. We went to the Chef's table. It was so good. Dinner started out quiet, but then a bunch of teenager on their prom date came in and they were laughing a lot, but then they calmed down. I got two desserts, ate one there and will eat one tonight. After dinner we went grocery shopping and then came home.

Tomorrow I get to go to church for the first time in 2 months I am so excited. Before we left on date
Cheesy smile
Xavier after we came home he was happy to see me.

The car fell through. Mike was supposed to go get it this morning, but we got a call last night from the seller. He said he decided to sell the car to another couple, because they are a young couple with a baby and their last car blew up. So they really needed one.

Mike could of said no, because they had a contract. But he new the other couple needed it more than us. We have decided to put a car on hold and keep the money in the bank for a rainy day.

Good things

So life is good right now, for all of us.

Xavier is sleeping better. He now gets up 3 to 4 times a night, which is much better than 7 times a night. He is awake more during the day and has smiled for me and me only so that is awesome.

Brooklyn is now sleeping in her big girl bed. Last week we decided just to try it. She kept getting up for an hour or so, but eventually fell asleep in her bed. We go in every night to make sure she is in bed. Usually she is in bed with Abigail.

Abigail has not had an accident for a month now. Before the baby came I was struggling with her going poop. But she got it down right after he was born. We promised her a little kitchen if she learned and she has not forgot. So we ordered her one the other night. She is enjoying preschool and having fun learning a lot.

Mike is always gone with work or school he leaves at 7:30 in the morning and gets home at 8:30 at night. It makes for long days but it will be over soon.

I am doing well. Feeling better everyday. I am getting into my regular schedule, if the kids let me. I am slowly losing weight and can't until I can exercise.

We got our tax return yesterday, so we payed off our car. We still had money left so we thought about what we could do and we decided to buy a cheap car for Mike to drive around so I will have a car, if I need it. It will be easier on me, because I had to schedule things around his schedule now I will be able to go when I need to.

Long Night

Xavier doesn't like to sleep on his own. I think it has to do with the fact that when I came home from the hospital I hurt so much I couldn't sit up without pain. So I let him sleep with me. So now I am trying to get him to sleep on his own. He is also going through a growth spurt or something. He wants to eat every hour. It is so hard on me. Mike will tell me to pump a bottle so he can feed him, and I tell him that is hard to pump when the baby wants to eat once an hour.

Last night was one of the worst nights yet. We just started putting Brooklyn in her big girl bed. And it took her about 2 hours to finally go to bed last night. She kept getting on Abigail's bed and Abigail would yell at her to go to bed, she was getting in the dresser turning on the light. So after we finally got her to bed I tried to go to bed. With Xavier liking to eat every hour I would feed him I would think he was asleep and I would try and he would start crying for food again. At 2 he decided it was time to be wide awake. I tried to cuddle him and I somehow pulled a muscle in my upper back. So whatever way I moved it hurt, I was in tears because it hurt so bad. The pain was even going down into my arms. About 3:30 I finally got him back to sleep. I finally fell asleep.

A couple of hours he woke up and actually ate with me laying down in bed with him. While I was feeding him I heard Brooklyn cry a little. Which is normal for her so I kind of just ignored it. But then I heard her talking and turn on a toy. Again I was like oh well. But then I heard Abigail crying which is not normal, So after about 5 minutes I went in there and Brooklyn was sitting by Abigail's head on her pillow. They both got up. I knew it was early I was going to be a bad mom and just put cartoons on for them and go back to bed. Until I saw the time it wasn't even 6 yet. Brooklyn went and woke up Mike. I told him about my night and he said to go back to bed. I took a pain pill and tried to go back down, but still couldn't sleep. Xavier woke up about an hour later. So I got up, fed him out a heat pad on my back and tried to relax.

Now the kids are playing, Xavier is having floor time and Mike is in the shower. I am trying not to move, because of the pain. I wish I could go get a massage or something for this.
