stupid swamp cooler....and the no nos.

Monday they came over and TRIED to fix the swamp cooler. The guy said it was working and left it wasn't leaking at the time. But I didn't move the bowl.......good thing later that night I heard a drip drip drip. I went and looked and sure enough it was leaking again, but now it is even worse. There are 5 places that it is leaking from. So we called again and we still haven't had anyone come by to fix it. I can't not have the air on, or it would get hot. So I just keep emptying the bowls and have towels in the hallway. Yesterday i think I emptied the bowl more than 7 times. And it a big bowl. I also have to keep Abigail away from them. She loves water so she keeps trying to get to it.

Yesterday Abigail did a big no no. She was playing with her ball popper and she thinks if the ball can go down the hole then anything can. While I wasn't watching she put a cookie cutter in the hole. Later that day before I even noticed she was trying to put a bigger one in there but it wasn't going so she started to get mad. I thought she wanted to play with the ball popper, so I turned it on and none of the balls were coming out. I looked in and there was the cookie cutter. I had to figure out how to get this thing out. I finally did. I took the ball popper away for the rest of the day.

Weekend in Delta, another leak in the ceiling

This past weekend we went to Delta to visit Mike's family. It was a lot of fun. Mike and I went down Friday late night after he got home from work. So basically we got there visited a little bit and then went to bed. Saturday morning we woke up and went golfing with 2 of Mike's sister and one of his brothers and the spouses that were there. It was fun, but I realized that I can't golf. For every swing most people had I had to have about 5 swings to catch up. I got to the point that I quit counting. The only time I did good was if no one was watching me. Finally I just quit. My arm was starting to get sore and I was tired of hitting the ball only about 10 feet at a time. I had a sister in law that quit too. After that we went back to Mike's parents and played games and hung out. That night we had a camp fire and sat around telling stories. I finally told my deer story to Mike's family. They all laughed, luckily I am not really embarrassed about it anymore. Sunday we went to church then came home and played games. Mike and I came home early afternoon.
Last night when we were getting ready for bed we noticed that our ceiling was leaking again. But this time it is close to the swamp cooler. We called them again and told them so we are hoping they came today. Our bedroom ceiling(where it was leaking the first time) is really bulgy I took pictures of it after we called them, so that way if any more damage happens we can show them the pictures and say this is right after we called you the first time. It is so annoying I also have a fear that the ceiling will fall through and ruin our bedroom carpet or anything.

Swamp cooler

This morning I woke up to the noise of dripping water. I got up and there was water dripping from our bedroom ceiling. You can tell there is damage where the water is coming out. The ceiling has a bump in it. So we turned the swamp cooler off and now the water has quit coming. Hopefully they fix it soon. It will be really hot if they don't. I think that our roof has problems that's why it leaked into our attic into our apartment. Not good.

Wow 2nd anniversary

Today the 5th of August was Mike and my 2nd anniversary. It started out early about 2 in the morning Abigail woke up screaming. She screamed for like a half hour to an hour unless one of us was holding her. Finally we got her to go to bed because we gave her a pacifier.
We all slept in until after 8. We didn't do much this morning. Just hung out. About 12:30 came and Mike's mom and sister came over we talked to her for a little bit. When she left, Mike, Abigail and I went to get Mike's paycheck and then we went to Provo to pay our rent. We were on our way to rc willy when our air conditioner stopped working and our car started to struggle. We were like this is not good. At a couple of intersections later the car just died completely. The light was green so Mike jumped out and started pushing. I jumped into the drivers seat and steered the car. A nice man stopped to help us. We finally got it into a parking lot. We called Mike's mom and sister came. While we were waiting for them to come we opened our hood, we knew right away it was one of the belts. It was shattered completely. Mike's sister went and got their brother and we found out it wasn't the timing belt but the one that went to the coolant and the alternator, without those things your car doesn't go. So he said he could fix the belt. While he was working on it he said that the timing belt was starting to shread also. Plus our car was leaking anti freeze, tires were in bad shape, and before this we were having trouble with the breaks. It took Mike's brother about 2 hours to fix the car. About the middle of it My sister-in-law and I went on a drive so Abigail could nap. When we got back they were finishing the car.
While all this was happening Mike and I decided that it was time to buy a new car. We were just sick of all the problems and our car was wanting to die on us. So after we got the car done we went to the kia dealership. Because they have some of the type of suv's we like. As we were walking in to find a sales person, I saw the car I wanted it was a grayish blueish kia sorento. It ended up being in our price range, basically the only one they had. We test drove it and Mike and I felt good about it and knew it was what we needed to buy. So we sat there for the next two hours getting paper work done. Needless to say we have a new car. Since the old car and new car are the same make we gave them nick names new car the shizzle and the old car is the crap. While we were buying the new car Abigail was over at Mike brother Steve's house. She cried most of the time that she was there. When we got back she was really happy to see us. I took her out to see the new car and she got really happy. We went to dinner with Steve and Trisha and took them on a ride in our new car. We finally got home about 11:30. Needless to say it was a really long day. I will post a picture tomorrow or sometime when I have time to do it.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. We have finally weened Abigail off of a bottle. We stopped giving her one on Thursday and she hasn't even seemed like she wants one now. It is so awesome. We are even trying to take the pacifier away, she only has it at bedtime now. My goal this week is to take it away all together. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She takes a couple of steps and will stand up in the middle of the floor. She is so cute when she stands, she starts saying YAY!!! and claps her hands. She has become a show off, if we have visitors that's when she tries to stand up the most. I am just happy she is trying.

Camping and talking in church

We had a busy weekend. First Friday night Mike, Abigail and I went camping with Mike's brother and sister-in-law. It was fun we went up Payson Canyon and found a place to camp. Abigail was really good we brought her play pen and she went to sleep really well in the tent, and slept all night. After she went to bed we just hung around the fire ate and Mike and his brother went on a hike up one of the hills. After they got back we ate marshmallows and talked around the fire for awhile. We went to be about 11 so it was good.
The next morning we woke up really early it was before 6. We all got up and ate doughnuts and waited for water to warm up over the fire. But after it was warm no one really used it. We went down soon after that because Abigail was starting to get cranky she wanted to crawl around but I didn't want her to get dirty or go into the fire. She slept the whole way home.
When we got home, Mike went and took a shower, while Abigail and I went to the American Fork parade. It was fun, but hot.
Sunday Mike and I had to talk in church. We had to talk about pioneers. It went really well. Saturday Mike and I practiced by reading our talks to each other. We also had to teach our primary class so it was a long day at church. When we got home we ate a little and then rested. We had spaghetti for dinner last night. It was the first time Abigail ever tried it and she really enjoyed it. Luckily I had stripped her down to a diaper because she had food all over her. Overall it was a fun weekend.

gaining weight and losing weight

So I found out today that Abigail is only 16 pounds. She is still so tiny. We are hoping that she will gain weight. She has a doctor appointment on Friday so I will ask him if she needs to gain it for sure. She is starting to eat the same food as us. She is sometimes having a hard time with it. We have always fed her and now we are trying to teach her how to do it on her own. She does pretty good except she won't use the spoon and she stuffs to much in her mouth at once.
I am currently trying to lose weight. I have started going walking with some girls in my ward at 6:30 in the morning. It is fun. I like getting to know new people. Hopefully I can lose a few unwanted pounds.

Huh?????

So this past weekend, Abigail and I went to my family reunion. It was up in Ogden. I had a lot of fun, but there is one thing that confused me. One of my second cousins is pregnant about 9 months I guess. And here she is smoking.
I guess I just don't understand. If you are pregnant and loved that child wouldn't you want to do all you can to help make the healthy. Its just hard for me to see that, but I guess it happens.
